PSLV-C47/CARTOSAT-3 MISSION: ISRO TARGETS 25 NOV LAUNCH FOR 13 US SATELLITES, INDIA'S 8TH CARTOSAT

The Indian Space Research Organisation has locked a date and time for the launch the CartoSAT-3 earth observation satellite from India along with thirteen commercial nanosatellites from the US, the agency announced in a tweet.

The PSLV-C47 will lift off carrying fourteen satellites on 25 November at 9.28 am IST from ISRO's launchpad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.

ISRO's CartoSAT-3

CartoSAT-3 is the third in a series of indigenous Earth observation satellites built by ISRO. With its highly-advanced remote sensing capability, CartoSAT-3 is a leap of advancement over its predecessor CartoSAT-2, with a wider spatial range (of view) and finer resolution (of up to 0.25 metres or 25 centimetres).

If all goes to plan, the satellite will be placed at an altitude of 509 km, at an inclination of 97.5 degrees by mid-day on 25 November.

CartoSAT-3 is undoubtedly one of the most advanced imaging satellites ever built by ISRO, with the capability to produce some of the most high-resolution aerial imagery in the world — certainly the highest of any ISRO satellites. It will also image across multiple spectra — panchromatic (captures all visible colours of light), multispectral (captures light within specific ranges in the electromagnetic spectrum) and hyperspectral (captures light from across the electromagnetic spectrum) earth observation mission.

Of the fourteen passengers on the PSLV-C47, thirteen are commercial nanosatellites from the US, part of a commercial arrangement between NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), Department of Space.

ISRO also has two PSLV rideshare missions lined up in December 2019. Customers with satellites on the PSLV-C46 and PSLV-C47 rideshare missions include Boston-based satellite communications company Analytical Space, American data and analytics company Spire Global, Cambodian small SAR-satellite manufacturers iQPS, and Luxembourg-based Kleos Space, Spaceflight announced last week.

To ensure that its customers continue to enjoy world class digital experiences, Vodafone Idea will suitably increase the prices of its tariffs effective 1 December 2019," the company said in a press statement.
  The announcement comes at the time when Vodafone is struggling to keep up with its AGR-related dues of Rs 44,200 crore to the government. Analysts have predicted that this due could further rise placing the company's balance sheet in a more critical position.
  Not everything seems good at the Vodafone. Company's CEO Nick Read called the situation of the company's India venture critical. " If you don't get the remedies being suggested, the situation is critical," Vodafone CEO Nick Read was quoted by the report," he was quoted by Bloomberg.
  On October 30, reports started pouring in that the Vodafone Idea is ready to "pack up and leave any day now" due to the mounting losses of the company and dwindling market capitalisation which was affected the balance sheet of Vodafone Idea. The company later dismissed the reports calling it malicious and added that its India venture was going through challenging times but it wasn't looking at any exit.

FACEBOOK REPORTS WHATSAPP BUG THAT COULD ALLOW HACKERS TO INFECT YOUR PHONE VIA VIDEO FILE

Facebook has disclosed a vulnerability in Whatsapp that could allow your phone to be hacked via a malicious video file.

It's not clear if the video file must be opened or if it can simply be sent to a user to allow a hacker to hack your phone.

The bug was present in the iOS, Android, and even Windows Phone versions of the WhatsApp and WhatsApp for Business apps.

According to Facebook: "A stack-based buffer overflow could be triggered in WhatsApp by sending a specially crafted MP4 file to a WhatsApp user."

The bug has been patched in the latest versions of WhatsApp, and was reported to India's CERT-IN following the release of the patch. CERT-IN has rated the severity of the vulnerability as "high" and advised users to update their app.

More recently, WhatsApp has been at the centre of controversy involving state-sponsored spyware made by Israeli firm NSO Group. The suite of tools, called Pegasus, costs millions of dollars and is only accessible to nation-states. It was revealed that this spyware suite was used to targets over 1,400 journalists and activists around the world, including several dozen such people in India. WhatsApp was one of the vectors used to spread the attack. Given the mechanism by which Pegasus exploited WhatsApp, it's unlikely that this mp4 vulnerability was involved.

அதுமட்டுமல்லாது, தேர்தல் நடத்த வசதியாக அரையாண்டு தேர்வை டிசம்பர் 23ம் தேதிக்குள் நடத்தி முடிக்க பள்ளிக்கல்வித்துறைக்கு அறிவுறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளதாகவும் கூறப்படுகிறது.
