In an email sent to the Prime Minister, Union health minister, state Chief Minister and state health minister, Vellore East (Co-op cell) district BJP president VSC Venketesan said it was surprising that the institution, which went to the court against NEET, had started its online admission procedure.
In his email, Venketesan also mentioned that CMC neglected students in Tamil Nadu by announcing the admission procedure in churches in Kerala. Stating that this betrayal could not be permitted, Venketesan demanded the admission process to be advertised in the Tamil vernacular press, while extending the time for TN students.
When contacted, a top CMC staff said, “The online admission process was advertised in our website as we have to be prepared for any eventuality. If suddenly, the Supreme Court delivers a verdict in our favour we cannot seek time for admissions to begin then as it would delay the entire academic calendar.”
Accepting that online admission started on February 21 and ended on March 25, he said, “We have received complaints from a senior advocate from New Delhi and from an IAS officer about the lack of transparency in this regard. Our legal advisers have replied to them.”
